Jose de Jesus Cano is Assistant, Direction of CEA. Jose practiced law for several years in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, before moving to Quintana Roo. Here he applies his legal background and his experience in municipal service (promoting eco-tourism in the mountains of northern Mexico) as he follows his interest in ecology, sustainability, and their intersections with tourism.

This past year, working in the hospitality industry in Tulum introduced him to some of the specific challenges that the Riviera Maya faces in reconciling the demands of tourism with the local and global imperatives of sustainability.
